Appointed our new Artistic Director
On 27th November the Board of Directors of Quadriennale di Roma, chaired by Franco Bernabè and composed of Umberto Croppi, Damiana Leoni, Ludovica Purini, appointed Sarah Cosulich as Artistic Director of the Foundation with the specific task of coordinating its next three year cultural planning which will culminate in the 17h Art Quadrennial in 2020.
Sarah Cosulich (1974) obtained her degree in art history in Washington D.C and a masters in contemporary art in London. After the first collaborations in Berlin, at the Jewish Museum as well as alternative spaces in the city, she had an experience at London Tate Modern in 2001. Cosulich starts her contemporary art career with Francesco Bonami at the 50th Venice Biennale in 2003. From 2004 to 2008 she is curator of the Villa ManinCentre for Contemporary Art Centre. From 2012 to 2017 Cosulich directs Artissima in Turin.
Recently she has worked as development advisor of Manifesta12 Palermo and she collaborates with Mutina, company for which she has created a programme of support, production and presentation of contemporary art.
The name of Ms Cosulich was identified at the end of a public selection procedure organised into three phases (CV examination, project assessment, final interviews). 116 applications were received and preliminarily examined by a Commission composed of Umberto Croppi and Cristiana Collu, Director of Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea besides Franco Bernabè and the Quadriennale General Director, Ilaria Della Torre.
